What does the MULTIPLA-FACTOR VERIFICATION CODE mean IN NOUN?

The multiple-factor verification code is a high level of security access.

This is an authentication process attached to cyberspace, whereby a student (user) only gets access if evidence of identity is provided by two sources.

The first source; whenever you want to log into your portal NOUN server will be notified.

Stating a logging attempt, specifying the location, the type of device, and the time.

Secondly, your NOUN STUDENT EMAIL.

What is the NOUN STUDENT EMAIL?

Noun student email is a student personal repository/storage or we should call it a store for all NOUN-related matters.

Ranging from transactions and updates from NOUN, and the fact is the majority of NOUN students are yet to activate or have activated but forget the passcode due to not using it frequently.

So, when the TMA MISCONDUCT issues started, NOUN thereby made the student email activation mandatory.

Students flooded their study centers to resolve this issue but little could be done because the majority of the management staff were invigilating.

The few available management staff, attending to students in the ICT department could do little as the numbers of affected students are overwhelming.

HOW TO RESOLVE THE TMA MISCONDUCT ISSUES IN NOUN?

Before we talk about how the TMA MISCONDUCT ISSUES can be resolved, we need to specify that in this whole process of TMA MISCONDUCT, we have different categories of students.

CATEGORIES OF STUDENTS AMID TMA MISCONDUCT IN NOUN

– TMA Smooth Re-attempt: This is the first category of students where students, had their NOUN student email functioning before the TMA MISCONDUCT issues began.

So, logging into their TMA portal was not a problem because their NOUN student email is functioning properly, therefore there were little or no issues receiving the MFA passcode, and were also able to re-attempt.

– TMA Impossible Re-attempt: This is the second category of students, they were able to log in but they were unable to find the re-attempt option even though the TMA MISCONDUCT banner was displayed on their NOUN student portal.

– TMA Impossible Logging: These are the third category of students. This categories of students have a functional NOUN student email, but whenever they attempt logging into their TMA portal they find it difficult because they don’t receive the MFA passcode.

– TMA Impossible Logging: This is the fourth category of students, they are those students who could not log into their TMA portal.

because they are unable to get their NOUN student email activated and those who could not find the re-attempt option on their TMA portal until the TMA re-attempt window was closed.

HOW TO SOLVE TMA MALPRACTICE ISSUES IN NOUN – WHAT ALL AFFECTED STUDENTS NEED TO KNOW

There is a drafted list of all students caught in the web of TMA MALPRACTICE according to their study center by the management of the National Open University of Nigeria.

Considering this list, there are a few options on how to resolve the TMA MALPRACTICE ISSUES.

To resolve the tma malpractice issues, you will need to retake the TMA.

HOW DO I RETAKE MY TMA IN NOUN

Due to the available STATISTICS, the NOUN management has indicated that quite a large number of students have low exam grades.

Therefore making available the re-attempt options for students who could not attempt their TMA earlier would help this student gather the grades available for attempting their TMA.

The management of the National Open University of Nigeria will re-open the TMA submission for the students who are affected.

But if unfortunately, after the TMA re-attempt the involved student still did not do well in some or all the affected courses the student might still end up failing the course.

WHAT HAPPENS IF DO NOT RE-ATTEMPT MY TMA?

In a situation whereby a student is unable to attempt his/her TMA such a student stands the chance of having an INCOMPLETE RESULT otherwise known as IR.

It would have been a different case if the tma was attempted halfway.

But in the case of not attempting the TMA at all, the chances that such a student will experience an incomplete result are high.

WHAT DOES INCOMPLETE RESULT MEAN IN NOUN?

An incomplete result in NOUN is a result that is not complete. Not complete in the sense that the affected student did not complete his/her academic obligation for the semester.

The NOUN marking scheme is based on TMA and EXAM.

WHAT IS NOUN MARKING SCHEME

The NOUN marking scheme is based on a 60/40 scheme. A 70/30 marking scheme is based on a total examination grade of 70/70 scores and a total grade of 30/30 scores in the TMA.

Which makes it a total of 100%.

Much emphasis is placed on students securing at least a 20/30 or a maximum of 30/30 in their TMA as this will be a good foothold for recording a good grade as per the semester.

Let’s take for exam, if a student has secured a 27/30 in GST101 TMA and a 50/70 GST101 examination, that makes it a total grade of 77/100 which is in the grade of A+.

This is why TMA is very important. It is the foothold for academic success in NOUN.

HOW TO RESOLVE INCOMPLETE RESULT IN NOUN

To resolve incomplete results in NOUN the affected student will need to re-register the course.

This means that the affected course or courses will be re-registered and the exam of the affected course or courses will also be re-registered.

IN CONCLUSION

For students who are yet to fix their NOUN EMAIL, they are thereby advised to fix it as soon as possible.

Without it, as soon as the opportunity to reattempt is available students who are yet to fix their NOUN student email will not get a chance to re-attempt it.
